Administrative Order No. 285

I, Bill Walker, Governor of the State of Alaska, under the authority of Article III, Sections 1 and 24, Constitution of the State of Alaska, revoke Administrative Order No. 279 and make the following findings and order:

Findings

On February 16, 2016, I ordered that the administrative and research functions of the Alaska Commercial Fisheries Entry Commission (Commission) were to be transferred to the Department of Fish and Game (Department) under Administrative Order No. 279. The objective of Administrative Order No. 279 was to streamline certain administrative functions of the two agencies and identify cost-saving measures, while continuing to provide appropriate support to the commercial fishing industry in state and to the Commission. After consulting with a number of stakeholders, I have decided that the objectives of Administrative Order No. 279 can be achieved in other ways; therefore, Administrative Order No. 279 is revoked. I continue to encourage and promote cooperative management between the department and the commission as to their respective administrative functions.

Order

Administrative Order No. 279 is revoked.

Administrative Order No. 60 remains in effect.

This Order takes effect immediately.

DATED at Juneau, Alaska, this 2nd day of May 2017
