Description: The commission consists of 3 members appointed by Governor, 1 of whom must be an educator engaged in the field of higher education in Alaska.
Function: The commission develops and disseminates information for higher education planning in the western states and provides access and opportunity for students from the 15 member states to sharing of higher education resources.
Special facts: The commission was created under provisions of Article III of the Western Regional Higher Education Compact.
Compensation: Standard Travel and Per Diem Members compensated for actual and necessary expenses.
Meetings: 2 times per year; 10 days maximum.
