Prohibitions: Conflicts of interest include ownership of interest in entities in which corporation assets are invested. Public members may not hold any other state or federal office, position, or employment, either elective or appointive, except as a member of the armed forces.

Description: The board consists of 6 members appointed by Governor: 4 public members with recognized competence/wide experience in finance, investments, or other business management-related fields; 2 heads of principal departments, 1 being the Commissioner of the Department of Revenue; vacancies to be filled promptly; terms of public members shall be staggered so that no more than one term of a public member expires each year.
Function: The board manages and invests the assets of the permanent fund and other funds designated by law.
Special facts: A quorum consists of 4 members. Public members may be removed by the Governor only for cause. Notice must be in writing and must state the reason for removal. The board reports by September 30 to the Governor, Legislature, and public.
Compensation: Standard Travel and Per Diem Public members receive honorarium of $400 per day.
Meetings: As determined by the Board; full board meetings approximately 6-8 times per year, 12-15 days total.
