Prohibitions: Members cannot serve more than all or part of two consecutive terms and may not be reappointed unless four years have elapsed since the person last served. Description: The board consists of 7 members appointed by the Governor, 5 of which are certified public accountants who must hold acurrent certificate or license and be eligible to receive permits under chapter; plus 2 public members.
Function: Regulates and controls applications, licenses, and permits of accounting profession.
Special facts: Members of the board serve at the pleasure of the Governor and may be removed for neglect or other just cause after a hearing. The board elects officers. A majority of members present constitutes a quorum. Members serve until a successor is appointed. An appointment to fill a vacancy is for the remainder of the unexpired term.
Compensation: Standard Travel and Per Diem No additional compensation.
Meetings: At least 4 meetings per year; meetings are 2 days each.
