This evening, Governor Mike Dunleavy issued a video statement on his legislation (HB 111, SB 108) to increase Alaska’s food production and security by permitting finfish farming in Alaska. The legislation only allows permitting for the cultivation and sale of certain finfish in inland, closed bodies of water. Salmon farming will remain illegal under this legislation.
