WHEREAS, it is our responsibility to guide, inspire, and encourage our youth to go forth and serve America by becoming productive citizens; and
WHEREAS, to achieve this worthy objective, we should demonstrate our understanding of the dreams and goals of our young people, and we must show a sincere willingness to help prepare them for the responsibilities and opportunities of citizenship; and
WHEREAS, our Nation’s youth are deserving of our support as the young generation of today will assume the responsibility of advancing our society tomorrow; and
WHEREAS, the Elks Lodges of the State of Alaska honor our Junior Citizens for their accomplishments and contributions for the betterment of our communities, State, and Nation by observing May 1 – 7, 2025, as Elks National Youth Week.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mike Dunleavy, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA, do hereby proclaim May 1 – 7, 2025 as:
Elks National Youth Week
in Alaska and encourage all Alaskans to continue to support the development of our youth in their journey to adulthood.
