WHEREAS, America’s success is driven by pioneers who think big, take risks, and work hard, and in Alaska, we recognize that our small business sector is one of the greatest strengths of our prosperous State; and
WHEREAS, from mom-and-pop shops to high-tech startups or small manufacturers, small businesses are the backbone of our economy and drive our State’s expansion efforts; and
WHEREAS, when we support small businesses, jobs are created, new services are provided, and local communities can further develop and share their culture; and
WHEREAS, Alaska’s small business owners are passionate, dedicated, and hard-working, and they contribute to the vitality of our economy and motivate others to realize the full potential of our State; and
WHEREAS, small businesses embody Alaska’s spirit and support prosperity, and we honor and recognize the entrepreneurs and small business owners who contribute to our Great State’s economy and culture.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mike Dunleavy, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA, do hereby proclaim April 28 – May 4, 2024 as:
Small Business Week
in Alaska and encourage all Alaskans to support small businesses and recognize the impact they have on our communities.
