Wednesday, December 19, 2018 (Anchorage) – This week Gov. Michael J. Dunleavy is sitting down one on one with all 60 incoming and sitting representatives and senators in the Alaska Legislature. The Governor wants to learn what their goals for the upcoming session are, how they can work best together and, to learn more about each other as public officials and fellow Alaskans.
“Strong relationships and open lines of communication are the keys to a successful legislative session,” said Governor Dunleavy. “These meetings foster an open dialogue and exchange of ideas that I believe will lead to a more engaging and productive time in Juneau.”
Making Alaska safe again, protecting the Permanent Fund Dividend program, reducing state spending and, achieving better outcomes in rural and urban public schools are part of the Dunleavy administration’s bold agenda for the 2019 session and beyond.
The 31st Session of the Alaska Legislature begins on Tuesday, January 15, 2019.
