Governor Michael J. Dunleavy kicked off Domestic Violence Awareness Month by attending two events in Anchorage hosted by the Southcentral Foundation and Abused Women’s Aid in Crisis (AWAIC.) In the Governor’s Proclamation declaring October Domestic Violence Awareness Month in Alaska, Governor Dunleavy stated that he wants to “encourage all Alaskans to take a stand against domestic violence in our homes and communities, offer support to those in need, and recognize the efforts of those who work to extend hope and healing to the survivors and victims of domestic violence.”
