Steve Colligan Appointed to UA Board of Regents

Today Governor Mike Dunleavy appointed Stephen (Steve) Colligan to the University of Alaska Board of Regents. Mr. Colligan is a long-time business owner with decades of professional experience in the public and private sectors. He has national and international experience specializing in Information Technology Integration, geographic information systems and geomatics.

He is a lifelong Alaskan who holds an A.A.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering Technology from the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Engineering Studies at UAF/UAA. He has decades of professional education and certifications in technology and project management. Mr. Colligan has been a pioneer in professional use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems and robotics for engineering design, infrastructure inspection and geomatic purposes. He has also been actively involved in STEM education in Alaska schools as President of the Alaska Drone Racing League and the Alaska Government Relations Coordinator for Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA).

Mr. Colligan was born and raised in Fairbanks and currently resides in Wasilla with his family. Mr. Colligan’s appointment takes effect immediately.
