WHEREAS, America’s success is driven by pioneers who think big, take risks, and work hard, and in Alaska, we recognize that our small business sector is one of the greatest strengths of our prosperous State; and
WHEREAS, from mom-and-pop shops to high-tech startups and small manufacturers, small businesses are the backbone of our economy and drive our State’s ongoing growth; and
WHEREAS, jobs are created, new services are provided, and local communities can continue to develop and share their culture, when we support small businesses; and
WHEREAS, Alaska’s small business owners are passionate, dedicated, and hard-working, contributing to the vitality of our economy and inspiring others to pursue the full potential of our State; and
WHEREAS, small businesses embody Alaska’s spirit and support prosperity, and we honor and recognize the entrepreneurs and small business owners who contribute to our Great State’s economy and culture.
NOW THEREFORE, I, Mike Dunleavy, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA, do hereby proclaim May 3 – 9, 2026 as:
Small Business Week
in Alaska and encourage all Alaskans to support small businesses and recognize the impact they have on our communities.
