Saturday, November 2, 2019 (Anchorage, AK) –Today, the Alaska Senate Republicans confirmed Governor Michael J. Dunleavy’s appointment of Josh Revak to fill the vacancy for Senate District M. Josh Revak, a decorated war veteran, was elected to Alaska House District 25 in November 2018, and was appointed to fill the Senate District M vacancy on September 27, 2019.
“I would like to congratulate Senator Josh Revak on his confirmation to the Alaska State Senate,” said Governor Dunleavy. “Josh has dedicated his life to service of our nation and state – he joined the U.S. Army shortly after 9-11 and served tours of duty in Iraq where he was severely wounded. He has worked for members of our Congressional Delegation on veterans issues, and he has proudly served the constituents of House District 25. I have all the confidence that Senator Revak will serve his district in the same fashion he has served our country and state.”
The confirmation of Senator Revak to the Alaska State Senate will create a vacancy for House District 25 in the Alaska State House of Representatives. Pursuant to AS 15.40.320, the Governor will have 30 days to name an appointment, subject to confirmation by Republicans in the Alaska State House of Representatives.
