Alaska Governor Mike Dunleavy and First Lady Rose Dunleavy send their condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of former Alaska Representative Carl Morgan.
“Rose and I are saddened by the passing of Carl Morgan. Carl dedicated his life to serving the people of Western Alaska and the state he called home. He was a strong advocate for his community and a committed public servant, and his contributions to Alaska will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Gov. Dunleavy said.
Morgan served in the Alaska House of Representatives from 1999 to 2004. A lifelong Alaskan, Morgan was born in Upper Kalskag and worked as an electrician before his legislative service. He also served as mayor of Aniak and held leadership positions with the Aniak Traditional Council, Kuskokwim Native Association, and Calista Corporation.
Gov. Dunleavy will order flags to be lowered at a future date to be determined in coordination with Morgan’s family.
