Governor Declares January 9th Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

January 9, 2019 (Juneau, Alaska) – Governor Michael J. Dunleavy today proclaimed January 9th, 2019 as “Law Enforcement Appreciation Day” and issued the following statement:

“Today I encourage all Alaskans to thank and appreciate the brave men and women that give their all to safeguard the health and wellbeing of our families and communities. Alaskans stand by our everyday heroes, including Alaska’s local Police forces, the Alaska State Troopers, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Park Rangers, Village Public Safety Officers, and Correctional Officers, and lend our wholehearted support to them as they continue to give of themselves for the benefit of all.”

Governor Dunleavy signed the proclamation at the State Capitol with law enforcement officers from the Alaska State Troopers, Juneau Police Department, and Alaska Department of Corrections.
