Alaska Manufacturing Day 2026

Oct 2, 2026

WHEREAS, craftsmanship and ingenuity are embedded in the legacy of Alaska and have helped shape our State into what it is today; and

WHEREAS, Alaska’s staggering size, natural beauty, vast resources, and strategic location are the envy of the Nation, and our land, water, skies, and weather present unique challenges and opportunities for manufacturers; and

WHEREAS, Alaska’s local fish processors, timber companies, bakeries, furriers, and others play an important role in our economy. Our manufacturing industry produces exceptional products, offering Alaskans locally-sourced options; and

WHEREAS, growing demand for Alaska Made products can spur production expansion, adding to Alaska’s economy, security and circulation of money within our State, and it is necessary to teach our youth the importance of self-sufficiency and adaptability, and to emphasize the vital role manufacturing plays in sustaining a strong economy; and

WHEREAS, our State’s manufacturers offer safe, healthy, high-quality products, giving Alaskans local options and providing financial security for our State, which would otherwise be dependent on imported products; and

WHEREAS, Alaska is abundant with resources of which future generations will benefit from their harvest, and Alaskan manufacturers are modern-day pioneers who supply the locally-created products necessary to ensure a sustainable future for current and future generations.

NOW THEREFORE, I, Mike Dunleavy, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA, do hereby proclaim October 2, 2026 as:
