Office of International Trade State Trade Expansion Program Alaska lies at the crossroads of international commerce, strategically positioned to take advantage of international markets, investors, and visitors. Alaska is an internationally recognized brand with substantial growth opportunities. While Alaska has strong positions in the export economies of seafood, mineral ores, and energy, there is potential to expand export capabilities, especially in small to medium sized enterprises. Funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Alaska’s STEP program is a multifaceted program designed to assist Alaska small business with their export development. This program is administered by the Alaska Governor’s Office of International Trade and the Department of Commerce, Community & Economic Development (DCCED), Division of Economic Development.
