Description: The commission consists of 7 members appointed by Governor from three nominations submitted by each of the following: (1) Village Council of Koliganek; (2) Village Council of New Stuyahok; (3) Village Council of Aleknagik; (4) City Council of Dillingham; (5) Bristol Bay Native Association. In addition, the Commissioner or designee of the Department of Natural Resources and the Commissioner or designee of the Department of Fish and Game serve as members. Function: The Council develops a management plan for the park with the advice and assistance of the Department of Natural Resources. The plan shall be presented at a public meeting before approval and implementation. Special facts: The primary purpose of the park is to protect the area’s fish and wildlife breeding and to preserve the continued use for subsistence and recreational activities. The Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Fish and Game work with the Council to develop regulations governing the public use of the park prior to review at public hearings. Compensation: Standard Travel and Per Diem Meetings: Minimum 1 meeting per year, if there is an in person meeting it is held in Dillingham.
