Governor’s Cabinet Law Jahna Lindemuth Commissioner http://law.alaska.gov/ Ms. Lindemuth started her new role as Attorney General on August 8, 2016. Before becoming Attorney General, she spent 18 years in private practice at Dorsey & Whitney, LLP. As a partner in the commercial litigation group, she represented clients in complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and private arbitrations. Her work brought her before the Alaska Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on many occasions, helping to hone her skills in legal research, writing, and oral argument. While keeping up a full caseload, she also donated many hours providing pro bono legal services to clients who could not afford an attorney, including representing one of the Fairbanks Four in a postconviction proceeding. In reaching a settlement with the State of Alaska, she secured the Fairbanks Four's release from prison, and the court vacated their convictions. Ms. Lindemuth managed Dorsey's Anchorage office for the last eight years. Clients have commended Ms. Lindemuth's "strategic approach" to dispute resolution, as well as her invaluable insight, problem solving skills, and excellent judgment.
