Description: The board consists of 3 members appointed by Governor. Not more than 2 of the members may be of the same political party.
Function: The board approves or disapproves amendments to personnel rules, considers extensions of the partially exempt and classified service, hears appeals under A.S. 39.25.170, and hears complaints under the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act.
Chair: Board selects.
Special facts: The board performs a regulatory function. The board elects its chair. Members may be removed by the Governor only for cause.
Compensation: Standard Travel and Per Diem.
Meetings: As necessary, approximately 4 times per year on a quarterly basis; for a half day each meeting.
