Dear Fellow Alaskans,
Thank you for your interest and willingness to partner with us to host a Choose Respect event in your community. Together, we are embarking on social change - an effort to end the epidemic of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual abuse of children in Alaska.
By joining these efforts, you are among a group of community partners that have banded together to stand up for safe homes and strong families.
Community partners will receive a box of materials to help in the planning process of an event, along with a banner to hang in your community to show your support. Materials forwarded from our office include:
- A color printed flyer with details about your event
- Official proclamations for Choose Respect, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, and Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month
- Alaska statistics and facts on domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual abuse of children
- Talking points for speakers
- Ideas on ways to engage your community
- A statewide directory of where to go for help
- Sample drafts of op-eds to customize for your local newspaper
- Choose Respect pins, ribbons, or buttons to use as giveaways
- Sign-making supplies
- Educational resources
- And more!
