Alaska - Republic of China Friendship Week
Effective Date: Sunday, October 7th, 2012
WHEREAS, the people of Alaska and the Republic of China enjoy a friendship characterized by increased understanding and international cooperation; and
WHEREAS, Alaska appreciates the positive trade and business relations with the Republic of China and is grateful for decades of mutually beneficial partnerships; and
WHEREAS, China Airlines Cargo and EVA Air Cargo have provided over 45 years of combined service to Alaska, and are important assets to the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport; and
WHEREAS, Alaska looks forward to continued international cooperation in trade, investment, culture, tourism, and education with the Republic of China.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Sean Parnell, Governor of the State of Alaska, do hereby proclaim October 7-13, 2012 as:
Alaska - Republic of China Friendship Week
in Alaska, and encourage all Alaskans to continue to foster the friendship between our state and the Republic of China through cultural exchange, transportation, and trade.
