June 21, 2012, Iliamna, Alaska - After meetings in several Southeastern Alaska communities, Governor Sean Parnell has continued his visits to communities, traveling to Southwest Alaska this week meeting with community leaders and constituents.

On Wednesday, the governor and first lady arrived in Iliamna, where they met with dozens of leaders from Newhalen, Iliamna, Kokhanok, Nondalton, Pedro Bay, Igiugig, Port Alsworth, and Egegik.

The governor and community leaders discussed a wide range of topics important to Alaska, including game management, jobs, energy, education, mining, domestic violence, and health care.

“I always value the open discussions and warm hospitality that characterize Alaskans who care deeply about our heritage and our future. I appreciate Mayor Glen Alsworth and all those who participated,” Governor Parnell said. “Together, we will continue to create opportunities for Alaskans.”
