Governor Parnell Honors Fallen JBER Soldiers
May 15, 2012, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell offered his condolences to the family and friends of two JBER soldiers who were killed in combat on Sunday. Sergeant Brian Lloyd Walker and Private First Class Richard Lewis McNulty III died of injuries after their vehicle struck an IED in Bowri Tana, Afghanistan.
“Sandy and I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of these fine soldiers,” Governor Parnell said. “I urge my fellow Alaskans to pause and reflect on the valor and heroic sacrifice of our uniformed men and women serving in harm’s way.”
Both soldiers were assigned to the 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.
