Parnell Issues Veterans Day Message

November 11, 2009, Anchorage, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell issued the following message today in honor of Veterans Day:
"Today is a day of honor and remembrance. We honor Alaska's veterans, and we remember their service and sacrifice. We honor them for preserving 233 years of freedom, and we remember that they also paved the way for freedom in many countries around the world.
“America was founded on the principles of life, liberty, opportunity and justice for all, and on Veterans Day we recognize our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guard for valiantly defending these values throughout our history. We are grateful for the efforts, the sacrifices and the dedication to duty of our veterans and the men and women currently serving in all of the armed forces.”
